Maciej Zaremba

    is a Swedish journalist writing on political and cultural affairs for the daily Dagens Nyheter based in Stockholm. Having left Poland following the 1968 anti-Semitic campaign, he embarked on a career in journalism in 1981 reporting on the Solidarity movement. In 1997 he created a great stir with his book De rena och de andra… (The Pure Ones and the Others…), which revealed cases of forced sterilization of undesirable persons in Sweden. His most recent book Den polske rörmokaren och andra berättelser från Sverige (The Polish Plumber and Other Stories from Sweden, published in Poland in 2009), received the Grand Prize for Journalism. Zaremba also translates Polish literature into Swedish, sometimes with his wife, Swedish writer Agneta Pleijel.
