Marcia Pally

    is an American literature scholar. She teaches at New York University in Multilingual Multicultural Studies and is a permanent Fellow of the New York Institute for the Humanities and has been Guest Professor at Humboldt University, Berlin, a Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Berlin (Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin) in 2007 and again in 2010. She is a regular contributer to The New York Times, The Nation and Index of Censorship as well as Die Zeit, writing on cross-cultural issues, religion and the effect of culture on language usage, as well as freedom of expression and censorship.
